Poster, 20″ × 30″

This poster for Damien Chazelle’s “Whiplash” was inspired by the raw, brutal nature of the torment that the main character goes through in the film as he makes his journey to “be one of the greats” while being verbally and physically abused by his studio band conductor. In contrast to the harsh symbolism of the drumsticks, the rest of the poster is designed to look like a cover of an album, drawing on the aesthetic used in High Fidelity sound equipment and record covers.
